In September 2018, the new European standard WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised light Vehicle test procedure), is valid. WLTP replaces the current standard NEDC (new European driving cycle) and makes it possible to assess the consumption of gasoline, diesel, electric and hybrid vehicles.
All vehicles with petrol, diesel and hybrid engines, CO2 emission values are also indicated in addition to fuel consumption. In the case of electric vehicles, there are also figures for energy consumption in addition to the range. The tests for the determination of these values will be carried out from September 2018 for all vehicles. All new vehicles approved from September 2018 must be tested in accordance with the WLTP. The new standard applies in the EU countries as well as in Switzerland, Turkey, Norway, Lichtenstein and Israel.
